Wreaths Across America

Girl Scouts/Brownies helped lay wreaths.

Wreaths Across America at Wyuka is an annual event to pay tribute to fallen members of the military, honor those who serve and their families, and teach our children the value of freedom by placing wreaths on military graves during the holiday season. On December 16, 2017, over 1,200 locations around the country took part in Wreaths Across America, including 24 offshore cemeteries, and Navy ships in the Seven Seas.

The laying of the wreaths on military graves at Wyuka Cemetery began after the program.  The 2017 theme was “I’m an American. Yes, I am!”  Retired U. S. Senator Ben Nelson was the keynote speaker.

We greatly appreciate the more than 50 individuals and entities that donated to this year’s event through the Wyuka Historical Foundation providing for nearly 400 additional wreaths.
