The Stables Meeting Venue

Originally built in 1909 and on the National Register of Historic Places along with the cemetery, the stables formerly housed the horses that transported caskets to the cemetery. Once automobiles took the place of the horses, the stables were used primarily for storage. The Wyuka Historical Foundation completed more than $915,000 in historical preservation and renovations in early 2015 through a federally-funded grant made possible in conjunction with the Nebraska Department of Roads.

Now the renovated, re-purposed and very unique space offers a central Lincoln location with ample parking for events such as weddings and receptions, meetings, company retreats, craft fairs, family memorial gatherings, and graduation, holiday and other appropriate parties.

The Stables has two rooms that can accommodate 60 people each, one with restrooms and efficiency kitchen with a refrigerator and a microwave.  In addition there is a large open courtyard surrounded by covered bays. Video media and WiFi available in both meeting rooms and the Stables is accessible.  Third party catering allowed as well as self-catering.  All serving of alcohol must be by licensed vendors.

Community Crops hosts their annual sale of vegetable plants, herbs and perennials at The Stables finding the quaint combination of indoor and courtyard space perfect for their needs.  2017 Community Crops Plant Sales is May 13th, 9am – 1pm.

Each year, the Flatwater Shakespeare Company has a production in the Stables’ Courtyard.  From June 8-11, 2017, Flatwater will produce The Merry Wives of Windsor.
